These photographs were taken in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, where I had been living at the time. You can see my old apartment in the photo in the upper right. My truck has a yellow ladder on top.
What struck me about night time in this neighborhood was that I always felt like I was on some kind of movie set. The street lights were relentless, but at the same time cast a dreamlike light on its inhabitants. The industrial landscape also added to the ambience. The photos were taken with a 120 film camera, and the final images were darkrooom printed. They were later exhibited at the Open Lens gallery, in Philadelphia.
